To have autonomy over our health and our body, we have to be able to listen to, communicate with, and understand our body.  

The Pilates principles of flow, concentration, coordination, and breathing strengthens the mind as it builds a more detailed awareness of our vessel.  

Pilates focuses on balance, stability, and alignment. Beyond mind-body awareness & connection, Pilates is also an excellent tool for rehabilitation.

MEET YOUR TRAINER

Hey, I'm Joanna

I chose Pilates as a path to having autonomy over my mind and body and its health. My goal in fitness is beyond physical improvements. I'm here to teach and provide tools and guidance that you can hone and make a part of your lifestyle.

Most of us are going through life focused on responsibilities, taking care of others, and or dealing with transitions. When we are hyper-focused on external things we neglect our internal environment. Feelings, emotions, thoughts, aches and pains become stagnant in the body and develop over time. Exercise can serve as a form of preventative medicine. In my classes and training sessions we're working to build and relieve ourselves in all ways. 

 

My approach with my clients is understand their physical goals as well as what their body is energetically holding, and how best to release it through a fitness routine. Sometimes this may be with the assistance of herbal medicine and/or a nutrition plan. The intention is that you are with me for a chapter and will continue what you've learned on your own or with your community to improve, maintain, and regulate yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically. 

Pilates is formed on the basis of principles that create a stronger, more aligned foundation for your 
mind and body with quicker results than your average gym session. 
& no, this is not at all like yoga, not even close.
